Daisy Wholesale Sales Manager scoops award
A Daisy Wholesale Sales Manager has proved he is the best in the business, having been named as Sales Person of the Year at a glittering awards ceremony.
Glenn Allen picked up the sought-after accolade at the Comms Business Awards, held at one of London’s most prestigious hotels - Lancaster London - on Thursday, 23rd June.
Over 550 people attended the Comms Business Magazine’s Gala Dinner for what is undoubtedly the best night out in the telecoms industry calendar.
Guests enjoyed a drinks reception, lavish dinner and an exciting awards presentation hosted by comedian and TV personality Jo Caulfield.
According to the judges, Glenn’s sales results, personality, passion and drive was leagues ahead of the other finalists in the Channel Sales Person of the Year category.
They were impressed to learn that he had delivered an exceptional sales performance during 2010, achieving £6.1M worth of revenue, up from £4.5M in 2009, whilst managing a 12-strong team.
Carl Churchill, Managing Director of Daisy Wholesale, said: “Glenn has done exceptionally well to win this award, especially when you consider the tough competition he faced in his category.
“We’re thrilled that the judges have recognised what an excellent Sales Manager Glenn is and what fantastic results he has achieved for the business.
“Glenn's dedication and passion for Daisy Wholesale is clearly evident and has rubbed off on his whole team who are committed and passionate about growing their customers’ businesses.”
Glenn Allen first joined Daisy Wholesale, or murphx as it was known then, back in July 2006 as a Junior Sales Executive. He had previously worked as a furniture store manager, running two shops in Eastleigh.
As the business, which supports telecoms resellers, quickly grew, he was promoted from Junior to Account Executive in rapid time and then Senior Sales Executive all within four years, managing clients with a combined spend in excess of £4.5million per year. He was more recently appointment to his Sales Manager role.
Glenn commented: “When I first joined Daisy Wholesale, I was stepping into unknown territory, but it wasn’t long before I was up to speed with the telecoms industry, its terminology, our products and most importantly, our customers’ needs.
“I am proud to be part of the Daisy Wholesale business and of what I have achieved here, which is why receiving this award means so much.
“Being part of a fast-paced, growing business at the forefront of the telecommunications industry fills me with excitement and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.”
